The book contains a colour, frontispiece by Mabel Lucie Attwell. Attwell (1879-1964) was a English illustrator best known for charming work based on her daughter, Peggy.
The books cover has an illustration which is possibly by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Mackintosh (1868-1928) was a Scottish architect, designer, water colourist and artist mainly associated with the art nouveau movement.
